This temple is at Muravanthuruth in Vadakkekara of Ernakulam District. Lord Subahmanya is the main deity consecrated here. Ganapathy, Shaasthaavu, Devi, and Mahadeva are the sub-deities. Apart from that there are Nagaraja, Nagayakshi and Laata Guru. The statue of Sree Narayana Guru in Krishna Shila and his golden sandals have also been installed there for worship. Legend says that one Kalari Asaan (one who trained youth in martial arts) who was a devotee of Lod Ganapathy, owned the land where the temple stands today. As he became too poor to maintain the establishment a neighbour, Ravunni Moosaari bought the land from him. He is a more devotee of Lord Muruga, placed a Vel (lance) there and worshipped it. Once when the ruler of Paravur was passing that way he saw the Moosaari ringing the bell and performing the puja. This infuriated the ruler and he ordered the man to appear before him at the palace. When the man appeared before him the ruler saw the figure of Lord Ganesha ringing bells with both hands and performing the puja. Convinced about the divinity of the devotee, the ruler allowed him to continue with his rituals at the temple. Later an association named Vijana Prakashaka Sangham was formed to look after the affairs of the temple. It is believed that there was a white elephant in this temple. There were many families in the neighbourhood who made jaggery. On the days jaggery was made, the elephant would go around to the houses and each householder would give him some jaggery to eat. Once one of them poured the hot jaggery into his trunk and the animal ran and immersed himself in the pond, writhing in pain. The elephant lost his life there. Then the pond was covered except for a small portion. Even today it is believed that any elephant in a rut would become calm once he comes to this pond.
