This temple is in Wayanad District. The temple is dedicated to Aadiparaashakthi. Devi is worshipped as Vanadurga, Bhadrakali and Jaladurga here. It is the most important temple of the original inhabitants of Wayanad. It is connected with the Melekavu temple with Sita Devi and her sons Lava and Kusha consecrated there. Legends say that there used to be the sale and exchange of slaves during the temple festival in ancient times. All the rituals are performed by the aboriginals of the hills. The bamboo pole for the flag hoisting is brought by the chief of the tribe. The flag hoisting is performed on the 7 more th day of the festival and the flag is brought down 7 days after the festival. On the tenth day of Meenam during the festival, the chief priest goes to the Cheramkodu illom to take the idol of the Goddess. After remaining in meditation there for a day, he takes it with the permission of the lady of the illom.
