This temple is at Mele Thalasery, Thrissur
district. Long ago, a Yogeeswaran made Lord Ganapathy appear before him after severe
penance. But the Lord, seated under a banyan tree, was neglected and got covered with plants. Years later, the oracle at the Ayyappan vilakku pointed out the
place where the Lord was seated. So, the idol was recovered and consecrated in
a temple. Consecration day is on the star Uthram in Makaram. The main deity is Veera
Ganapathy. Bhadrakali, facing north, is consecrated with equal importance. Guru,
Vanasastha and Parakutty are the subordinate deities. Vinayaka Chathurthy,
Navarathri and the month of Karkadakam are observed
more
with various rituals.
