This temple is in Vallikunnu in Malappuram district. The temple is on top of a hill. There is a Sastha temple
at the foot of the hill named Niramkaithakotta Temple. It was the fortress and
seat of the Parappanad royalty. The Bhagavathy was worshipped as their family
deity. They had to flee to Travancore upon the arrival of Tipu Sultan and his
army. When they did not return, the temple was entrusted to the Zamorin by
the East India Company.
