Aniyaram Siva Temple Kannur

History

This temple is in Kannur district. The temple is connected with Thiruvangad Sree Ramaswamy temple and the Kanakamala. Lord Siva and Goddess Parvathy are consecrated facing east and the west. The temple is very old but remained in a neglected state till 1961. In that year, work on renovation was started under the leadership of Sri N.C.T.Madhusudanan Nambiar. Till 1991, he continued to provide for the rituals in the temple. In 1992, a committee was formed for the management of the temple. It has been renovated again, and a flag post was established. There is also a vast pond covering more two and a half acres, which is used for the Aaraatt of the Lord.
