This temple is in Cherthala. In ancient times, there was a temple of Yakshiyamma at this site. When Sree Narayana Gurudeva
came here, he removed many of the idols that were lying here and there in the
Kavu. He kept the idol of Bhoothakala Nagayakshy and asked the people to
worship Goddess Annapoorneswary there. Years later, after an astrological
consultation, the Goddess was consecrated in a temple. The Bhajana madam of Lord
Subrahmanya there was converted into a temple. The idol of Bhoothkala
Yakshiyamma was consecrated in another sanctum. Ganapathy, Shasthaav,
Ghandakarnan, Bhadrakali, Brahmarakshass, Arukula swamy, Nagaraja and
Nagayakshi are also consecrated here. Ponkala is
more
offered here every day to please the stars. Shashti, Chathayam, the first Sunday of the month and
Pournami are important here. There is a beautiful garden of all nakashathra
trees, each representing a different star. The annual festival lasts for 7 days
in the month of Medam, concluding on the day of the star Uthram. Thiruvoott for
children is an important ritual during these days. The temple is managed by a
Trust.
