This temple is at Koovapady near Kalady in Ernakulam district. According to legends, about 368 years ago, Koovapady village was under a landlord named Kannan Raman Kartha. As there was no temple nearby, he and his family used to pray at Aymury Siva temple. Kannan Raman Kartha had some personal inconveniences in going to this temple. So he got a Brahmin boy named Raman Bhattar to get him the prasadam, remnants of the offerings to the deity. When Raman Bhattar grew up and got married, a house was built for him and given the name Kooveli Madam. This later became more Koovapady. As more Brahmins came to stay in this area, they consecrated a Ganapathy idol under a banyan tree near the pond in 1843 ME. In 1851, a small sanctum was built for Ganapathy. The idol is unique as it has valampiri, and the Lord is referred to as Sidhi Vinayaka. Later, Ayyappa was consecrated under the banyan tree. This was also later shifted inside. The temple is unique as the worship here is according to Aagama shasthram. In 2016, after an astrological consultation, Sree Vishnu Durga Devi was consecrated in the temple. Sree Dharma Shastha was also consecrated as a subordinate deity. Main festivals are on consecration day and on the day of the star Atham in the month of Medam. Vinayaka Chathurthy, Navarathri, and Sree Sastha Preethy in January Mandala and Sree Ranma Navami are also celebrated.
