Cheppanam Panaparamb Bhadrakali Temple, located on Panaparamb Road at Chathamma in Cheppanam near Panangad in Ernakulam district, is a unique and revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. The temple also houses the sub-deities Brahmarakshas and Sarppam (serpent deities). Unlike most temples, regular daily worship is not conducted here; special poojas are performed only during the Malayalam month of Medam (April), once every two years. The temple is especially renowned for its spectacular Mudiyettu ritual performance, an ancient ritual art depicting the victory of Goddess Bhadrakali over the demon Darika.
