This temple is in Villyappally, Vadakara, Kozhikode district. The temple is 8km away from the Vadakara Railway station.
Private buses run on the Vadakara – Villyappalli route. Devotees of all castes and
beliefs visit this temple. According to
legends, Vishnumaya Chathan is the son of Lord Siva and Goddess Parvathy while
they were living as hunters. Devotees believe that the Lord chose Kalleri for
his stay. The worship is conducted by
the members of prominent Thiyya families. Many devotees come here to offer
special offerings to get their prayers granted. The pujas are as per the
Kerala style. Thottam pattu and Vellatt are special rituals.
