This temple is at Purakkadi, 10 km away from
Meenangadi in Wayanad district. This was
originally run by the local chieftains. This ancient temple is situated at a
place where, according to legends, Sita Devi and her sons, Lava and Kusha, had
stayed during their stay in the forest. Sita Devi is the main deity consecrated
here. Lava and Kusha are also consecrated here. Paradevatha is consecrated with
equal importance. Poomala Paradevatha is worshipped with Vaishnavite and
Shaivite rituals. Ganapathy, Sivan, Poothadi Daivam, Nagas and Mahalakshmi are
consecrated as subordinate deities. There are three other temples associated
