This temple is at Varode, Ottapalam, in Palakkad
district. This temple had been in a dilapidated state for a long time, causing untold
sorrow and misery to those who lived nearby. In 2015, an astrological
consultation was held to think about the renovation. In that, it was revealed
that, in ancient times, there was a brahmin living to the northeast of this
temple. He had no children. He used to pray to his favourite deity, Maha Vishnu, for getting a child. The Lord appeared to him in his dream and asked him to
build a temple on his land and consecrate the Lord
more
as Narasimhamoorthy there.
The temple was built around 1200 years ago. But later, due to the lack of unity
among his descendants, the temple and the lands were forcibly taken by another
person. But the family of this man also suffered as the rituals were not
conducted properly in the temple. As the people there had to face many
calamities, they decided to go for the astrological consultation and saw the
presence of Narasimhamoorthy, Devi and Brahmarakshass. Hence, renovation of the
temple was initiated, and the same was completed in 2022.
