Vydhyagiri Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Devasthanam
is considered equal to Pazhani Temple in sanctity and power. This temple is at Vythiri,
Kunnathidavaka, in Wayanad district. It is on top of a hill. The temple at first
belonged to a family, and a Yogi used to look after the temple. But after his
death, it fell into disuse for a long time. For 45 years, it existed as a small
Balalayam. Then, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad took over the temple and reconstructed
it. The Vel, the spear of Subrahmanya, is worshipped here, and so it is a union
of Bhagavathy and Subrahmanya that is present here.
