Sree Narasimha Parthasarathy Temple is an
ancient and spiritually significant temple located at Thiruvangoor in Kozhikode
district, near National Highway 66 and about 18 km north of Kozhikode city.
Believed to have been consecrated by Lord Parasurama, the temple is dedicated
to Sree Narasimha and Sree Parthasarathy and has been traditionally managed by
the Thoduvayal Nambi family. The temple, which bears historical remnants
believed to be over a thousand years old, faced neglect during the periods of
Tipu Sultan’s invasion and British rule before being revived through the
efforts of Mangalagiri Swamikal and local devotees in the mid-20th century.
Re-consecrated in 1974, the temple later witnessed
more
remarkable growth with the
construction of several facilities, including a temple pond, annakshethram,
chariot shed, outer walls, and shrine structures. The sacred rituals conducted
in 2003 further elevated the temple’s spiritual prominence, making it a
renowned Mahakshetra in the region.
