Aimury Siva Temple Ernakulam

History

This temple is at Aimury, Allom - Kodanad road, Koovapadi in Ernakulam district. It is an ancient temple. According to legends, a Siva Yogi made an ashram here and worshipped Lord Siva. He passed away at this place. The self-originated stone here is believed to contain the power of the Yogi, also. Devotees believe that worshipping here will save them from all difficulties in life. Lord Siva with Parvathy and Ganapathy is believed to be present here. The temple is famous for the huge structure of Nandi, known as Bruhath Nandi, more outside the compound wall. Nagaraja is consecrated outside the inner part of the temple. Main festivals are for Sivarathri, the day of star Thiruvathira in the month of Dhanu, Kalasham in Medam and Vaikkath Ashtamy.
