Thripallavoor Shiva Temple is located in the Palakkad district of Kerala, in the village of Thripallavoor (Pallavur). This ancient Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Siva, is believed to be over 1,500 years old and is currently administered by the Malabar Devaswom Board. The temple is enclosed by a large rectangular stone wall, with the main entrance situated on the southern side, reflecting traditional Kerala temple architecture. The principal deity is Lord Siva, with the idol made of Rudraksha sila, a sacred stone associated with Siva. Uniquely, the deity faces west, which is considered rare in temple traditions. According to local belief, the idol was installed by Kara
more Asura, the brother of Thataka. Pallavur is also renowned for its rich cultural heritage, especially the famous Pallavur Trio - Appu Marar, Manian Marar, and Kunjukutta Marar. These three brothers were legendary percussionists known for their mastery of traditional Kerala art forms such as Thayambaka, Edakka, Sopana Sangeetham, Melam, and Panchavadyam.
