This temple is at Chandiroor in Alapuzha
district. It is believed to be 400 years old. Legends say that this area was occupied by brahmins in ancient
times. The idol consecrated here was
worshipped by a devotee of the devi at Kodungaloor. When he was unable to go to
Kodungaloor, he started invoking Kodungaloor Devi in this idol. So now the idol
is considered to contain the effulgence of Kodungaloor Devi. The man who
worshipped the Goddess thus is present in this temple as the moola pithru. The temple is under
Kumarthapady Devaswam Reg. No. A 763/11 with 428 members.
