This temple is at Mevada in Meenachil of
Kottayam. The main deity consecrated here is Anthimahakalan and Akhileswari
(Aylakshy). Akhileswari is the supreme
goddess who has absorbed the full power of Lord Siva. More importance is given
to the Goddess in the worship offered here. The deity faces the west. The festival of the temple is for ten days
from the day of the star Bharani to Pooram in the month of Meenam. Thalapoli Kalam kantu thozhal is the
most important offering here. This can be offered by nine families on nine days
in a year. Thalam is for
Meenachil Kavilamma, and Vilakku is
for Puraykkattukavilamma. Those women
who
more
take the thalam have to take
appropriate observances. It will bring the blessings of the goddess for all desires
to be fulfilled. It is believed that whatever power is lost from the idol
throughout the year is added back when the thalam is brought before the Goddess for nine days.
