This temple is at Kodakara in Thrissur
district. It is an ancient temple which
was destroyed during the invasion by the army of Tipu Sultan. It lay neglected
for a long time. In 1990, attempts were made to rebuild it, and a committee of
the local people was formed. Now the temple and its related structures have
been completed. The day of the star Atham in the month of Meenam is celebrated as
the consecration day. It is celebrated with Chuttuvilakku, Niramala, Melam and
Annadanam as well as entertainment programmes apart from the rituals. Desha Vilakk is celebrated on the last
Saturday of the month of

Vrischikam. The month of Karkidakam is also observed
with various special rituals. The consecration and the rituals are similar to
those in the famous Guruvayoor temple. There is a huge temple pond covering 35
cents, which has been renovated with the financial help of the Central
Government. There is a Kavu with Nagas
and Vanadurga consecrated outside the temple. The temple is run by a registered
committee of the local devotees.
