History

Sree Subramanya Temple is located at Vaduthala Jetty Road in Arookutty, near Cherthala in Alappuzha district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya as the presiding deity, and it also houses several sub-deities, including Sree Rama, Lord Ayyappa, Lord Ganapathy, Rakshuss, and the Nagadevas. The temple is well known for its spiritual atmosphere and the devotion of its followers.  Major festivals celebrated here include Thaipooyam in the Malayalam month of Makaram (January - February), Skanda Shashti in Vrichikam (November–December) as well as the annual festival held in April. These occasions attract a large number of devotees who gather to participate in the rituals and seek the more blessings of the deities.
