Veeranimangalam Narasimha Temple

History

This temple is at Enkakkad village in Thrissur district. The temple is believed to be more than 1000 years old. Narasimhamoorthy is the main deity consecrated here. Lord Siva and Lord Sree Krishna are also consecrated with equal importance. Ganapathy is the subordinate deity. The area around the temple with the pond and the fields is beautiful. The day of consecration of the three main deities is celebrated on the day of star Punartham in the month of Midhunam. Special rituals are offered for Narasimhamoorthy on the day of star Thiruvonam in the month of Thulam. The month of Karkidakam is observed with different rituals, more and the consecration day of Ganapathy is celebrated on the day of Panchami in the bright half of the month of Chingam. Sivarathri, Sreekrishna Jayanthi, Thiruvathira, Narasimha Jayanthi, Guruvayoor Ekadashi, Vaikathashtami, Mandala period and Vinayaka Chathurthi are also observed. Kotalanikavu Karthyayani temple is associated with Sree Veeranimangalam Temple, where, apart from Sree Karthyayani devi, consecrated as the chief deity, Ganapathy, Dharma Shastha and Nagas are the subordinate deities.
