This temple is at Kommady, Kanjiramchira, in
Alapuzha. It is believed to be more than a hundred years old. It belonged to
the Kalathil family. In the beginning, it
was in the form of an ara (room) and pera (house). Then a small temple was built. Khandakarnan was consecrated first. Through astrological consultations, it was
revealed that Lord Siva was present there. So, Lord Siva was consecrated in
1980. Then Khandakrna was worshipped in a bell and a stick placed on a
pedestal. In 1982, a separate temple was
built for Khandakarna. A committee of
the devotees runs the temple. The
festival is conducted by Vadakke Cheruvaram and Thekke Cheruvaram on
more
alternate
years.
