Located in Vattiyoorkavu, Thiruvananthapuram, the Sree Bala Vigneshwara Maha Ganapathy Temple is a unique place of worship dedicated to the principles of karma and its effects. The temple follows non-tantric and non-Brahmanical practices, emphasising simplicity and spiritual introspection. The presiding deity is Sree Mahaganapathy in his child form (Bala Ganapathy). Temple rituals and proceedings are guided and largely performed by Swami Manikanda. Worship here is simple and profound, centred on the complete surrender of oneself and one’s karma phala at the feet of the Lord. This form of worship is intended to mitigate the adverse effects of one’s karma. It reflects the ancient Vedic understanding of cosmic more truththat all existence is one, inseparably unified with Parabrahma, the supreme cosmic reality.
