This temple is at Thankayam, Trikaripur, in Kasargod. It is believed to be more than 600 years old. Sree Subrahmanya as Balamurugan is consecrated facing the west. According to astrological consultations, there was a Brahmin lady in this village who ardently prayed to Someswariyamma for a child. Devi and Payyannur Perumal appeared before her and blessed her. Then Lord Subrahmanya was consecrated as the main deity in the Illam, and Someswariyamma was consecrated outside under the banyan tree. The power of the consecrations grew day by day, and devotees worshipped them. There is still some connection between this temple and the others in the neighbourhood, more like Ilambachi Kannamangalam temple, Muchilott Bhagavathy temple, Kunnachery Sree Poomala Bhagavathy temple, Koyonkara Sree Poomala Bhagavathy temple and Koyonkara Sree Koormba Bhagavathy temple. The temple lay in ruins for a long untill the local devotees renovated it.
