This temple is at Arangottukara, a border
village between the Trichur and Palakkad districts. It is believed to be 1500 years
old. The temple is unique as no idol is
consecrated here. The belief is that the Goddess resides under a Madhavilatha
creeper that grows inside the sanctum and spreads all over the temple. There is
also a Manikinar, a small well inside the sanctum. This is believed to be
connected with the Bharathapuzha, and when the water there rises, the well also
fills up, and water floods the sanctum and the whole temple premises. The main
