Suvarnavalli Temple, Nileshwaram, is an ancient temple located in Nileshwaram, Kasaragod district. Several centuries ago, more than ten families migrated from Karnataka and settled in Pattena and the nearby areas of Nileshwaram. They identified a sacred site to the east of Pattena, began worshipping Lord Mahavishnu, and eventually built this temple. Situated about 3 km from Nileshwaram, the cultural capital of Kasaragod district, the temple holds an important place in the region’s religious traditions. Many nearby temples begin their festival rituals here with the lighting of Deepam and Thiri (lamp and wick). The presiding deity is Suvarnavalliyappan (Lord Mahavishnu), with Lord Mahaganapathy as the Upadevata. Lord Sastha and
more Brahmarakshassu are also worshipped here. The temple is especially renowned for its sacred well, which remains abundant with water throughout the year. Devotees from various places visit the temple, believing that Lord Suvarnavalliyappan blesses them and fulfils their prayers.
