Payattuvila Vadakkariku Sree Bhagavathy Temple is an ancient Bhagavathy temple situated at Kottukal in Neyyattinkara taluk, Thiruvananthapuram district. Dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy, the temple has recently undergone a complete renovation, enhancing its spiritual ambience and devotional atmosphere. Darshan is primarily held on Sundays. The temple’s administrative affairs are managed by the Sree Bhagavathy Temple Trust, located to the north of Payattuvila. Sri Bhagavathy Devi, revered as the remover of sins and evils and the bestower of divine blessings, holds a central place in the hearts of devotees. In addition to the main deity, the temple houses several sub-deities, including Kannimoola Ganapati Bhagavan, Sri Dharmasastha, Mantramurthy, Yogeeshwaran, Madan Thampuran,
more Yakshiamma, and Nagaraja, all believed to bring prosperity and protection to the land and its people. The annual consecration day festival of the temple is celebrated during the Malayalam month of Medam. The festival is observed with great grandeur, featuring traditional art forms, special festival poojas that inspire spiritual awakening, and major offerings such as Annadanam and Pongala, drawing large numbers of devotees each year.
