Oorakkadu Sree Subramanya Swamy Temple is an ancient and revered Hindu temple situated in Pukkattupady, Ernakulam district, Kerala, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya, who is enshrined here in a majestic warrior form, radiating valor and strength. Depicted in a vigilant martial bhava, the deity is adorned with ornaments, a crown, and the sacred Vel, symbolizing readiness to combat evil forces. Alongside Lord Subramanya, the temple also houses the consecrated idols of Goddess Durga Devi and Lord Ganapathy, the remover of obstacles. Additionally, Kaliyugavarada Sree Dharma Sastha and Hidumban Swamy, an associate of Lord Subramanya, are ritually installed within the temple. Hidumban Swamy is believed
more to be Swayambhoo (self-manifested), making his presence particularly significant. Unlike the common practice of installing guardian deities outside the Chuttambalam, Hidumban Swamy is uniquely enshrined within it due to his self-born nature. Other consecrations, including Rakshasas and Nagas, are placed outside the Chuttambalam and are respectfully worshipped by devotees. The temple is renowned for its spiritual power, unique consecrations, and deeply rooted traditions, making it an important centre of devotion in the region.
