The history of Sree Nagaraja Kshethra Sree Durga Parameshwari Maha Kalli Kashi Kala Bairaweshwara Temple at Korakod in Kasaragod is deeply rooted in ancient legend. According to tradition, the temple is associated with the divine battle in which Goddess Durga defeated the demon king Darigasura. After her victory, the Goddess is believed to have manifested as the seven sisters, known as Saptadurga, with each form residing in different sacred locations. One of these revered manifestations is believed to have taken abode at this temple.
