Sree Lakshmana Swamy Temple is located at Panangangara in the Puzhakkattiri Grama Panchayat of Malappuram district, Kerala. The temple lies about 2 km from the famous Sree Rama Temple at Ramapuram and forms an integral part of the revered Nalambalam group of temples in Malappuram. Nalambalam consists of four temples dedicated to Sree Rama and his brothers Bharatha, Lakshmana, and Sathrugna. Worship at these temples is considered highly auspicious during the Malayalam month of Karkidakam (July–August). The traditional ritual, known as Nalambala Darsanam, involves beginning the worship at the Sree Rama Temple, proceeding in sequence to the temples of Bharatha, Lakshmana, and Sathrugna, and concluding the pilgrimage
more by returning to the Sree Rama Temple on the same day. Historically, all four temples were owned and managed by Vadakkedathu Mana and Thekkedathu Mana. Later, the Sree Rama Swamy Temple came under the administration of the Malabar Devaswom Board, while the Sree Lakshmana Swamy Temple is currently managed by a committee of devoted worshippers. The temple continues to be an important spiritual centre, especially during the Nalambala pilgrimage season.
