This temple is at Pazhancheri,
Iritty, in Kannur district. It is one of the few temples where Goddess Uma and
Lord Maheswara are consecrated together on the same platform, facing east. The
effulgence of the Thandalath temple, which used to be the succour of this area, is
also seen here. As Siva and Shakthi are present together, it is equated with
Kailasa. Lighting lamps for each star according to astrological calculations is considered most auspicious. Lamps for all stars are placed around the sanctum. These
are lighted with gingelly oil or ghee.
