Kondazhi Tritham Tali Siva Temple

History

This temple is at Kondazhi village in Pazhayannur of Thrissur district. This is one of the 108 Siva temples established by Parasurama. The temple is in a beautiful area on the southern side of the Nila River. The temple faces the east. During the rule by Chera Kings, Kerala was divided into 18 ½ thalis, and each of them had a prominent Siva temple. The seat of the ½ Thali was at Kondazhi, and the Siva temple associated with it was the Tritham Thali temple. It is believed that the temple was destroyed during the attack by the forces under Tipu. For over 200 years after, the more ruins of the temple lay neglected. Then it was rebuilt. Kondazhi was at the northern border of the erstwhile Kochi dynasty. The two-storey sanctum is square in shape. The other parts of the temple are all constructed in the Kerala architectural style. Recently, the flag post was erected. There is a huge pond also near the Parvathy temple. The Gayathri River flows near the Parvathy temple.
