Sree Kavi Subrahmanya Temple is an ancient sacred shrine located near Kapri in the Kasaragod district of Kerala. The temple is believed to be more than 800 years old. According to local tradition, the temple originally stood at a different location. When the authorities decided to relocate it, they prayed to Lord Subrahmanya for guidance. As part of the ritual, they broke a coconut and resolved that the place where one half landed would be the site divinely chosen for the new temple. The coconut half fell nearly half a kilometre away from the original spot, and the temple authorities, along with the villagers, constructed the
more new temple exactly at that location. This event is still remembered as a sign of the lord’s blessing and guidance.
