This temple, under AKDS, is at Perumpalam in Alappuzha district. It is on the southeastern bank of the Vembanadu Lake. Around 1200 years ago, the temple was on the eastern side of the lake, and the waters of the lake did not flow in front of the temple. The temple was built by Sree Devanarayanan Namboothiri of Edavanakad Mana as per the instructions he received in a dream. In AD 1341, the floods destroyed the temple and the lake was formed. So, a new temple was built on the southern side of the present temple. The present temple was built and consecration performed in 2006. It
more is one of the few temples with the Dharma Shastha idol in panchaloha. The annual festival ends on the star Uthram in the month of Vrischikam.
