This ancient temple is located on Vallom Panamkuzhi Road at Kodanad in Ernakulam District. Lord Siva with Parvathy Devi is consecrated here. The Lord is consecrated Kirathamoorthy. The sanctum of the ancient temple is still there. Famous ascetics like Chattambi Swamigal and Sree Narayana Guru used to visit this temple. Chattambi Swamigal is believed to have lived in a hermitage built close to the temple. It is believed that he permitted his disciple Sree Neelakanda Theerthapadar to become an ascetic on the rock in the middle of the Periyar River that flows near the temple.
