This ancient temple is at
Udiyankulangara, Dhanuvechapuram, in the Neyyattinkara taluka of the Thiruvananthapuram
district. The main deity is Mahadeva. The name Dhanuvechapuram is connected to the Pandavas. It is believed that when the Pandavas came here,
Arjuna, after sending an arrow, kept the bow down and rested here. So, it came
to be known as Dhanuvechapuram (the place where the bow was kept). The main
festival lasts for five days, coinciding with Shivaratri in the month of Kumbham.
The temple is managed by the Dhanuvechapuram NSS Karayogam.
