Mahavishnu Temple at Manakkal
Thodi, Melamuri, Palakkad, is a historic shrine that has endured significant
damage over the centuries. Though detailed historical records are limited, it
is believed that the temple suffered destruction during Tipu Sultan’s invasion
and was later affected again during the 1921 Moplah riots, leaving it in a
ruined state. Presently, efforts are underway to restore this ancient temple
and revive regular worship, led by the Ugra Narasimha Charitable Trust in
association with the Reclaim Temples Movement.
