The temple is situated at Perumagod Desham in Sree Krishnapuram, Cheruplassery of Palakkad district. This is one of the oldest Vishnu temples in the Valluvanadu area of olden times. This is also one of the few temples where Vaedic–Thanthric rituals are given importance. This was once a school for Vedic studies and is believed to be more than 1650 years old. Maha Vishnu is consecrated as Vamana here, which is very rare in Kerala. The sanctum faces the west. The deity is not taken out of the temple, and there is no festival associated with the temple. The temple was under five Namboothiri illams, but now
more it is under the Malabar Devaswom Board.
