This temple is located in Ponnani, Malappuram district. Goddess Durga is consecrated and worshipped as the main deity here as Aadi Parashakthi. The Goddess has been consecrated as Mahakali, Mahalakshmy, Mahasaraswathy and Bhuvaneswary here. Though documentary evidence is not available about the origin of the temple, it is believed to be one of the 108 Durga temples established in Kerala by Lord Parasurama. The name Thrikkav is believed to have come from Thrikkanikkadu. The temple is owned by the Zamorin of Kozhikode. According to the Malabar Manual by Logan, Mysore rulers Hyderali and Tippu attacked this place between 1766 and 1792 AD. During that the
more temple was severely damaged and Tippu made it his storehouse for weapons. In 1861, Zamorin renovated the temple. The main consecration is Goddess Durga with four hands bearing the conch, disc and showing the Varada mudra and kateebadhahasthabhaava. The Goddess is consecrated facing the east. Sreekrishna, Ganapathy, Hanuman, Ayyappa, Nagadevatas and Brahmarakshass are consecrated as subordinate deities.
