Sree Kelukutty Kavu, located
at West Hill in Kozhikode, is believed to be over 300 years old. The temple is
dedicated to Kodungallooramma (Devi) and also serves as the Samadhi Sthala of
Kelukutty, a great devotee and Tantra Agama exponent with supernatural powers.
Legend says Kelukutty, afflicted with smallpox, survived through Bhadrakali
japa and later merged with the Divine. The present temple stands at the site of
his burial, where people began worshipping after witnessing divine
manifestations. Over time, the shrine grew into a Devalaya, attracting devotees
for the combined spiritual radiance of both Kelukutty and Kodungallooramma.
