This temple is situated in Vishnupuram, Meloor Panchayath, approximately nine kilometres south of Chalakudy in Thrissur District. It is believed to be more than 1500 years old.
The temple is built according to the Kerala tradition of temple architecture
with the Sreekovil or sanctum sanctorum, Nalambalam or covered corridor and the
Namaskara mandapam or worship hall. The temple follows the festivals according
to the Vaishnavite practices. The devotees believe that the idol is self-originated. The temple was lying forgotten and neglected for a long time. Then the
local people rediscovered it and started worship and rituals again.
