It is said that a devotee of Lord Subrahmanya used to go to Palani very regularly. When it became difficult for him to travel due to old age, he was sad about missing his worship. It is said that Lord Subrahmanya appeared before him in a dream and asked him to build a temple for him there. more That is how the temple came to be built there. However, the temple has gained worldwide fame in recent years as the only one where Munch, a brand of chocolate, is offered to the Lord. It is believed that once a small boy kept a Munch at the steps of the sanctum, and it disappeared. Now, children and grown-ups offer Munch before the Lord. More than 10000 Munch chocolates are offered here on certain days. This is given back to the devotees as naivedyam from the temple.
