This temple is situated at the
place known as Manikandanal in the Thekkinkadu Maidan on the southern side of
the Swaraj Round in Thrissur. During the country’s struggle for independence,
many political meetings were held there, causing difficulties for the people who went to worship. So, a temple was built and Lord Vinayaka and
Lord Subrahmanya were consecrated in it. Poojas are performed in the morning
and the evening. It is now a subordinate temple of the Vadakkumnathan Temple and is under the jurisdiction of the Cochin Devaswom Board.
