Located in Puzhavath near Changanassery in Kottayam district, the 200-year-old Sree Vaikunteswara Santhanagopala Moorthy Temple is renowned for the Santhana Gopala Vratham, a ritual fasting and puja observed by couples seeking blessings for childbirth. The presiding deity is a rare form of Vishnu seated with four arms, two holding the conch and discus, and the other two cradling a child symbolising the divine bestowal of progeny. This unique form is linked to the Santana Gopala legend. The temple, situated within the historic Lakshmipuram Palace built by Queen Lakshmibai of Travancore, features a square-shaped sreekovil (sanctum).
