Vendalloor Parambathkavu Temple is an ancient and revered shrine located in Vendalloor, near Valanchery in Malappuram district, Kerala. The temple is primarily dedicated to Goddess Durga Bhagavathy, and also houses the deities Lord Siva and Lord Vishnu. Situated along the serene banks of the Bharathapuzha River, the temple features a traditional chathura sreekovil (square sanctum sanctorum). One unique aspect of this temple is its distinctive opening schedule, which sets it apart from others in the region. The highlight of the temple's calendar is the Kala Vela festival, celebrated annually in Kumbha Masam (February–March). The festival is renowned for Kala Varavu, a grand procession featuring large, elaborately decorated effigies

The celebrations also include vibrant performances of Poothan and Thira, accompanied by traditional melam (percussion ensemble), kalam pattu (ritualistic song), and various artistic effigies, making it a culturally rich and spiritually significant event for devotees and visitors alike.
