Poothadi Temple, also known as Poothadi Mahakshetram, is situated in Poothadi village along the Kalpetta–Meenangadi road in Wayanad district, Kerala. A major highlight of the temple is the Tira festival, during which the Theyyam performances of Poothadi Daivam and Seetha Devi Amma are held. These rituals take place at Devapura, near the residence of the Kalanadikal. The oonatuanmar community also performs the Poothadi Daivam Theyyam as part of the festivities. The temple complex comprises three shrines. In one sanctum sanctorum, Poothadi Paradevatha and Bhagavan Vishnu are worshipped together on the same peedam (base). Both Siva and Poothadi Paradevatha face west, and the Shiva temple is particularly notable for
more its flag post, symbolizing its ritual significance. It is believed that Poothadi is a Vanadevatha (forest deity) and is associated with Shaivism. According to tribal folklore passed down through the songs of the Adivasi group Kalanadikal, Poothadi Daivam is said to be the son of Puli Kaali, a powerful forest spirit. The temple is traditionally managed by the Poothadi Nambiar family.
