This temple is located on the Amballoor-Palappilly road, at Alagappa Nagar, Kanjoor, in Ernakulam district. The temple once belonged to a Namboothiri family. One member of the family had performed penance at Kodungalloor and brought the effulgence of Goddess Bhadrakali with him. He consecrated her in a kannadi shila. As the Goddess was mighty, people couldn't go near the temple even during the day. So Sree Durga Devi was brought from Chottanikkara and consecrated in a similar idol in the same sanctum. As in other Bhadrakali temples, here also, the sangara para used to be taken to the houses where someone had been affected
more by smallpox. When there was no one left to look after the affairs of the temple, it came to be under the Vela community. It was then known as the Mullakkal Devi temple. Later, the temple came to be under the Nellanatt family, the local chieftains. When a civil suit was concluded in 1998, the temple was handed over to Amballoor NSS Karayogam. Renovation was carried out, and the two Goddesses were consecrated in two sancta. The temple faces the east. In 2017, the sancta were covered with copper sheets, and the thazhika kudam was gold plated. Apart from the main deities, there is the Sreemoolasthaanam, Brahmarakshhass and Nagaraja and Nagayakshi as subordinate deities.
