Located in Pampakuda village
on the Piravom–Muvattupuzha road in Ernakulam district, Kerala, Onakkoor Devi
Temple is a revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Durga, worshipped here as
Bhagavathy. The deity, facing east, is a stone-carved idol approximately 5.5
feet tall, including the pedestal (peedam). The temple celebrates an annual
8-day festival, culminating in the Arattu ritual on the Uthram nakshatra in
the month of Kumbham. Additionally, a special Arattu is observed during the
Thrikarthika nakshatra in Vrischikam. A distinctive aspect of the temple is the
presence of a female Dwarapalika serving as the guardian deity.
