Madayi Sree Koorumba Kavu is a
prominent temple situated just 100 meters from Payangai Railway Station in the Kannur district of Kerala. The presiding deity of the temple is Sree Koorumba
Bhagavathi (Bhadrakali). In addition to the main deity, the temple also houses
several other deities, including Sree Poomala Bhagavathy, Sree Puthiya Bhagavathi,
Khandakarnan, Poomaran, Dannan, Madayil Chamundi, Kundor Chamundi, Kurathi, and
Gulikan. The temple is traditionally managed by the Viswakarma sect, with key
governing families being Madayi Karipooramvalli, Vengara Bhandarapurayil,
Aduthila Thattuparambath, and Kulavayal (Meethal) Thekkinapura.
