Keezhoor Bhagavathy Temple is situated in Keezhoor, along the Thalayolaparambu–Koothattukulam road in Kerala's Kottayam district, approximately 4 km north of Kaduthuruthy. The temple has a fascinating history shaped by local legends. One tradition holds that the original deity worshipped here was a Yakshi, while another suggests that Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu were once the presiding deities. The temple’s transformation into a Bhagavathy shrine is linked to a local ruler known as Keezhur Naduvazhi. During a hunting expedition, he discovered a Bhadrakali idol in Mangatu Kulam and subsequently consecrated it at the temple. Since then, the temple has been revered as a prominent center of Bhagavathy worship
