Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Temple in Thiruvanchoor is located about 6 km from Ettumanoor and approximately 10 km from Kottayam town, along the Ayarkunnam–Thiruvanchoor Road in Kerala’s Kottayam district. The temple features a striking 6-foot-tall east-facing idol of Lord Murugan, intricately carved from Anjana Shila (a type of black stone). The sanctum sanctorum (sreekovil) is circular in design, locally known as a vatta sreekovil. The temple is believed to have been constructed in the 15th century and holds both historical and spiritual importance. Thiruvanchoor Subrahmanya Temple also serves as a convenient stopover for Sabarimala pilgrims. Ayyappa devotees travelling from Ettumanoor to Sabarimala via Pala and Ponkunnam often take the
more Thiruvanchoor–Mankad route, which helps reduce travel time.
